The SIP Variable Speed Midi Wood Lathe is an ideal, robust, and reliable machine tool for any functioning workshop, allowing woodturners to accurately shape, turn, drill, and sand workpieces to the desired specification. It features a heavy-duty cast iron bed (overall length: 950mm) for maximum stability, mounting both a cast iron headstock and a tailstock, both supplied with MT1 tapers. Powering the headstock is a 230V 550W electronic variable speed motor, running between 500rpm and 3500rpm. Spindle speed can be easily adjusted using the control dial for greater accuracy, with the headstock spindle speed clearly shown on a digital panel. This lathe has a 305mm (12 inch) maximum turning diameter and 432mm (17 inch) distance between centres. It is perfect for turning lace bobbins and small bowls, and is supplied with a tool rest, a 100mm faceplate, a 4-prong drive centre, and a revolving tailstock centre, making it suitable for both soft and hard woods.
