The ATR6550x shotgun microphone offers crisp, intelligible sound reproduction from close or far distances. A switch on the body allows you to shift easily between "Wide" and "Far" settings. In the first, which is appropriate for close and medium range, the ATR6550x functions as a standard cardioid condenser, focusing pickup on your desired sound source, whilst blocking noise from the rear and sides. Switching to the "Far" setting causes the polar pattern to narrow to supercardioid, giving you even greater directionality to pick up sound from a distance, and avoid ambient noise such as traffic, ambience, reverberation and mechanical vibrations. Designed especially for use with cameras, the ATR6550x comes with a camera shoe mount and has a permanently attached audio lead that plugs into 3.5mm input. Additional accessories include a microphone stand clamp, foam windscreen, and 1x AA battery.
