Product Overview

The TP-Link MC420L is a media converter designed to convert between 10GBASE-SR/LR fibre, 10GBASE-LRM fibre and 10GBASE-T copper media. It can be used to extend the distance of an existing Gigabit network via fibre optic cable when a SFP Module is installed. The MC420L is compliant with the IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR/LR 10G Ethernet & IEEE 802.3an 10GBASE-T 10G Ethernet standards as part of its intended use with multi-mode/single-mode SFP Modules. The Gigabit fiber converter is ideal for building long-range point-to-point connections, making it ideal for network connections across multiple buildings, remote surveillance and automated factory equipment.
  • 1GbE/2.5GbE/5GbE/10GbE Auto-Negotiation RJ45 port supporting Auto-MDI/MDIX
  • Auto-negotiation of Half-Duplex / Full-Duplex transfer mode
  • Complies with IEEE 802.3an, IEEE 802.3ae and IEEE 802.3aq
  • Maximum transmission distance varies depending on the installed SFP module
  • RJ45 Cable length: 1000BASE-T/2.5GBASE-T/5GBASE-T: UTP cat5e or above (max. 100m); 10GBASE-T: UTP cat6(max. 55m), STP cat6 or above(max. 100m)
  • FX port supports hot-swappable operation
  • LED indicators for power and link/activity
  • Dimensions (HxWxD): 27x73x95mm
  • UK mains plug (type G), as used in the UK, IRL, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Malta and many others.
